Do you seem to wake up around the same time every night? Sometimes, is it the exact same time...like 2:18am or 3:33am?

I started paying closer attention; what was I feeling or what was I hearing? I decided not to use this time to worry. It's way too dark and much too quiet. Could something more important be happening?

Here is an excerpt from my journal:

October 7th 2014 3:03 am

My awareness grows.

A full moon, a total eclipse. Darkness, stillness, quiet.

Something is shifting.

A goose is honking right over our house.

October 8th,2014 morning notes

I woke up again around 3 am and there was a goose honking, AGAIN, over our house.

Do geese honk in the middle of the night?

Either I haven't heard them or they typically don't?

I looked up Canadian Geese in hopes of finding my answer...

The first thing that caught my attention was this poem;

Wild Geese

You do not have to be good.

You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles repenting.

You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.

Tell me about your despair, yours, and I will tell you about mine.

Meanwhile the world goes on.

Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain are moving across the landscapes, over the prairies and the deep trees, the mountains and the rivers.

Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clear blue sky are heading home again.

Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting, over and over announcing your place in the family of things.

Mary Oliver

It wasn't the answer I was looking for, but, it was the answer I needed!

I don't dread the 3am wake up calls anymore.
